Helliza is born from love — for linen, for detail, for durability, and for the name itself. Inspired by my daughter, Helliza is more than a brand: it's a legacy.
We create pieces that stand the test of time — in quality, aesthetics, and consciousness. We work exclusively with 100% natural linen, a noble, durable, and biodegradable fiber, chosen not only for its beauty but for its responsible environmental impact.
Each piece is designed with minimalist lines, precise cuts, and a quiet sophistication that dispenses with excess. These are timeless designs, conceived for women who value authenticity, simplicity, and discreet elegance. Premium pieces, made to last — today, tomorrow, and for many years to come.
More than luxury, we advocate value:
cultural, human, and timeless.
We believe that true luxury lies in authenticity. That's why we produce entirely in Portugal, valuing proximity and ethics at every step of the process.
It was in this search for tradition and integrity that I met Luciana Castelli, artisan, trainer, and entrepreneur, founder of Lindo Linho and responsible for the revitalisation of linen in the parish of Covide, in the heart of the Peneda-Gerês National Park.
While studying the history of Vilarinho da Furna — a village submerged in 1971 in the municipality of Terras de Bouro — Luciana discovered a nearly vanished tradition: in times past, every house had a loom. Families would plant, harvest, thresh, spin, and manually weave linen into shirts, trousers, sheets, and towels. Linen was part of the community's identity.
Determined to bring this heritage back to the present, she created a project for the revitalisation of artisanal linen in partnership with AFURNA, chaired by Manuel Azevedo Antunes, one of the guardians of the village's memory. When she arrived in the region, there were no active linen fields left. With training, dedication, and commitment, women in the community relearned the complete fibre cycle — from sowing to weaving.
It is from this patient, ethical, and deeply human recovery process that the linen which inspires Helliza is born.
More than creating clothes, we create continuity.
More than following trends, we choose legacy.
More than luxury, we champion value — cultural, human, and timeless.
Wearing Helliza is choosing the essential.
It’s investing in quality.
It’s celebrating time, nature, and femininity with discreet elegance.
About me
My name is Joana, I'm 43 years old and I'm from Setúbal. I am the founder of Helliza. What few people know is that as a child, I dreamed of being an actress, singer, painter, musician... basically, an artist. I wanted to tell stories, give voice to emotions, live many lives in one.
Life took me down another path – perhaps not so far from my initial dream. I chose to study Social Communication, interned in a newsroom, and ended up pursuing a 14-year career in journalism.
Those were intense years, filled with learning, rigor, and dedication. Years where I learned to observe, to listen, to seek truth between the lines. But at some point, I no longer felt fulfilled.
I moved to Costa Vicentina to join a tourism project focused on sustainability. It was a change of pace, priorities, and vision. Soon after, I became pregnant. Motherhood brought new clarity: the lack of a support network and, above all, the deep desire to spend more time with my daughter made me rethink my path.
Some dreams don't disappear.
They transform.
Today I continue to tell stories — but in a different way. Through Helliza, I tell a story of identity, heritage, and purpose. A story made of noble raw materials, time, and intention. Helliza is born of love, resilience, and the desire to build something beautiful and lasting.
Perhaps, deep down, I never left the stage.
I just changed the scenery.
